Hi Raghu Sir !!!!!!! I want to know about \"campassionate appointment in India\" its my Dissertation Topic In central Govt. Services & States services????

Reported on January 24, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #33849

Whenever a government servant dies while still in service, the facility of compassionate appointment is available for a child, or near relative of the official concerned, in accordance with certain rules. The appointments are not to the same level as the official concerned, but is modulated by the qualification of the relative concerned. For example, the child of a police officer who dies in service will not automatically succeed to the post of his parent! Many guidelines have been issued by States and the Central Government in this regard. Instructions are also issued by Public Sector Undertakings on the process. There are many variations in the way that compassionate appointments are considered. These include the eligiblity criteria, the extent of the availability of this concession to 'near relatives', the posts to which a compassionate appointee might be posted, age limits, etc. I would suggest that you commence your search for the documentation in this regard by surfing the government websites, particularly those of the departments of Personnel of Central and State governments.
