Reported on October 24, 2014 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #45871

I am a Portuguese citizen, and I'll be doing a one year Internship in the Indian Red Cross Society in Mumbai. Having all the documents (invitation letter from the Indian Red Cross and a letter from my university stating that I was invited for an internship in india), i approached the indian embassy in portugal and applied for a 1 year entry visa due to this internship. I paid 97 euro which is the price for a 6 month entry visa. When I came to get my visa in the embassy 2 weeks later, I found out they just granted me a 3 months visa. After asking the lady in the embassy what went wrong, she told me, nothing went wrong, you have to extend your visa once you get to mumbai. So my question is, how do I extend my visa once I get to mumbai, having in consideration that Im going to india for a one year internship?

Thank you very much,

Cheers from Portugal,

Alexandre Hierro
