I am transferring a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (CNG make) from Pune to Chennai. I had purchased the car at Pune. The car is about 2.5 years old. Also, it is on loan from SBI. Please reply to the following:

1. What would be the total cost involved in re-registering the car at Chennai ((inclusing all taxes)?

2. What would be the time period for getting the new registration plate?

3. I do not know as to how long I would be in Chennai, maybe about 1 year. In such a scenario, is it feasible to re-register the car OR just keep the registration number intact, but pay the road tax in Chennai?

4. Can I claim a refund for the road tax paid at Pune, and in case I happen to relocate abroad (wherein I would have to sell the car), the road tax paid subsequently at Chennai?
