I'm sorry that you have had to face such a problem. I too had a problem once with a C&F agent and had to approach the Joint Commissioner in charge of the customs clearing house (this was at Bangalore airport). I gave a complaint about the C&F agent and the issue was cleared immediately, I noticed that there is a software in the Joint Commissioner's office which gave him online information on what was moving and what was not. It was then clearly seen that my consignment was not moving, when others that had landed up earlier were jumping the queue! I would suggest that you do the same. Please ask the recipient of the charity container to take the details and meet the Joint Commissioner to find out why the consignment is stuck. You can also submit your grievance to the Customs department at

I would also recommend that you follow up with the provider of the container as to why the same is stuck. As regards duties, please check up independently from the website of the customs department as to what are the duties applicable. Please ask your agent to send you an email/ fax in which he clearly states the section and rule under which the duties are going to be charged on your consignment. Do not accept vague replies from him.
