I purchased a flat and got it registered on my name in June, 2012. Tax for 2012-13 was paid by the land owner as the assessment was under his name. Now, I want to transfer the assessment ownership to me. The property is in Sai Nagar, Balapur, Saroor Nagar Mandal, RR Dist, AP. I got to know that this has to be done through Badangpet Nagara Panchayati. When we appropached them, they asked us to pay more than Rs.10,000 for a 1025 Sq. Ft. flat. And they also mentioned that the official amount that has to be paid would be at 0.5% of the document value. I want to know the procedure and at what rate they would decide the transfer charge. Please help me with the complete details.
