It's getting late in getting new HP gas connection. So for time

It's getting late in getting new HP gas connection. So for time being can I take new private gas connection . And in a period of 1 or 2 months I'll get HP gas and then discontinue private gas. Is this acceptable or is there any rule saying HP gas can't be issued becoz of private gas connection
