In many of your answers, I read that you have asked people to file an RTI (Right to information). I wanted to know that how do I file an RTI? Where and which office do I need to go to do that? Can it
Every department has a Public Information Officer to whom you can submit your RTI application to. Filing an RTI is simple.
You download Form A of section 6(1) and 7(1) of the RTI Act of 2005.
You need to give in the following details in the form:
Name and address of the Applicant.
The information that you are filing the RTI for.
The name and address of the Public Information officer of the department you wish to seek the information from.
Enclose the application with Rs.10 in the form of DD, Money Order, Postal Order or affixing Court fee Stamp.
Make sure you get a letter of acknowledgement once your application is accepted by the officer of the concerned department.
Here is a site which will provide all the information you need regarding the RTI Act. http://www.righttoinformation.org/faqs.asp.
