Every department has a Public Information Officer to whom you can submit your RTI application to. Filing an RTI is simple.

  • You download Form A of section 6(1) and 7(1) of the RTI Act of 2005.

  • You need to give in the following details in the form:

  • Name and address of the Applicant.

  • The information that you are filing the RTI for.

  • The name and address of the Public Information officer of the department you wish to seek the information from.

  • Enclose the application with Rs.10 in the form of  DD, Money Order, Postal Order or affixing Court fee Stamp.

  • Make sure you get a letter of acknowledgement once your application is accepted by the officer of the concerned department.
