My Electricity Bill is coming exorbitantly. How to put a complain for meter checking as i believe its working or functioning correctly.
We have checked up with the ESCOM authorities as to what should be done. A. They have suggested that you should give a letter to the Assistant Executive Engineer of the sub-division concerned, with a request to send a meter reader to take an actual meter reading in your presence. You can get the meter tested in the meter testing division and ensure that meter is in order. If it is found that the meter is not accurate, you need need not pay any extra charges except for minimum chargers and taxes. The bill can be revised as per the consumption recorded in the meter. In order to avoid such problems, it is better if you inform the ESCOM authorities in advance, if you intend to keep your property vacant or not use the installation. In case such advance information is not given by the consumer and if a bill is given based on the premise that the meter has failed or meter is tampered etc, you will have to bear the meter testing charges of Rs100/-
