One Car, Two life taxes and life time of harassment
It seems that it is a sheer stupidity to own a vehicle in India. I have transferred my car from Chennai to Hyderabad with due certification. I paid life tax in Chennai for the car in Chennai in 2008 and now in Hyderabad. I've been trying hard to complete registration of car in Hyderabad with all necessary and certification. But RTA authorities in **********, Hyderabad are dragging on it with some excuses apparently in expectation of a bribe. Their latest salvo was that i should pay commercial tax for my non commercial registered vehicle because i transferred it from Chennai with in 15 months of purchase. It looks very funny. I could find this clause any where in the concerned policy of AP Government. Some brokers volunteered to help me with the advise that i should be willing to cough up huge amount unofficially to get the work done. I'm reluctant to pay bribe. What should do? Grateful to have tips from learned members!
