Please let me know if the property tax is paid on the basis of Super built area or on the built up area in Bangalore?

I have paid property tax on the basis of super built area for a flat which I own in Bangalore. I was told later by some one it has to be on the basis of built up area which means I have paid more ?

My question is
How can I change the details?
Will I get a refund for the extra amount paid?
