This is regarding my passport which is due for renewal in month of October 2014, I had an appointment at PSK - Lalbagh Road in June and have completed all the formalities. Why am I supposed to get another round of police verification?

PS : Also I've inquired that the official at the police station will invariably expect me to bribe. (Rs. 300) to push papers
