Sometimes one is not in a position to give precise details, because I am not aware of the intricacies of your case. However, it does pay in such cases to approach the highest authority in the department for grievance redressal. I did exactly that and posted your case to my former colleagues in the IAS. Sir, I am retired Andhra Pradesh revenue employee. I retired on 31 st August, 2008. My pension was fixed and I have been getting pension through my Bank(SBI main branch Eluru) account.As per pay commission recommendations my pension is increased and some commutation and arrears(nearly Rs400000/-)came to sub-treasury from where my pension is remitting to my bank account. Now I am in USA at my daughter and I have to be here for some more time. Can I get my commutation and arrears cheque by giving a letter of authorization to my brother or my husband's brother to take from the sub-treasury and deposit in my bank account ? Or they sub-treasury people have to deposit to my account to which they are remitting my pension every month? But the concerned sub-treasury clerk is demanding very huge amount(25000)to remit it to my bank account as I am not there to take in person. Please advise me what I have to do to get my amount? I am not ready to give bribe to him. Thank you.
