Unfortunately, we do not have a 'Whisteblowing Act' in India, under which officials who come out with accounts of corruption in their offices can get protection. The Government of India has come out with a draft Whistleblowers Act. In addition, the Janlokpal bill also has provisions for protecting whistleblowers. However, we do not know when these laws will see the light of the day.
