Still not received my passport
On 18th June 2012, I submitted all the documents and proofs required for the removal of my ECR status on my existing passport at Passport ********** Kendra, Malad,Mumbai.I was informed that my existing passport would be cancelled and a new passport would have to be issued to me even for removal of the ECR status. On 21st August, I went to the local Police station and also completed my police verification.I didn't want to pay a bribe for getting my passport and till date, I haven't received my passport.Now, on checking the status of my passport online, it says that "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office." and is stuck at this status since the last 15 days.I am a B.E (EXTC) working in a reputed IT company.PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I ALREADY HAD A VALID EXISTING PASSPORT AND ONLY WANTED THE REMOVAL OF THE ECR STATUS. My File Number: BO1070365660612. I also do not have any criminal record or background, even then I am being made to wait over 5 months now since (18th June 2012) with no signs of my passport arriving.
