Swaminarayan Vadtal Acharya case judgment was given in 2018 summer
Swaminarayan Vadtal Acharya case judgment was given in 2018 summer after 15 years. The judgement was delayed 3 times through May, June , and July 2018. The judgement was given in favor of Dev Paksh, but the decision has been appealed to Supreme Court and is pending. Being a religious case and with the BJP In Power, there was suspicion that Dev Paksh may have paid a bribe to HC judge and may have given the BJP generous donations over the last 15 years in order to prolong the case and ensure that Acharya Paksh does not gain victory. I understand this is not a question, but a comment on how politics and religion impacts an independent judiciary. Is there any way to combat this?
