What the action will take by govt. for corruption.

Reported on January 2, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #33900

I wish there was a simple answer to your simple question! The government has a weapon named the Prevention of Corruption Act, under which it can take action to prosecute and punish corrupt individuals. The government has to implement this act scruplously and strictly. That would mean strengthening a range of institutions to function both in the letter and spirit of their creation. These include independent agencies to investigate maladministration, like the Lokayukta, investigation agencies such as the CBI, the CVC and the police themselves and courts that hear cases on corruption. If individuals within these institutions are themselves corrupt, then it makes the task of effectively combating corruption all that more difficult. Hopefully, the shock that we have all felt over the past few months on the scams erupting across India, as also the anger we feel because of the corruption that we face daily, will prompt us to ask questions as to why the government is not doing anything. Anyway, whether the government does anything or not, if we are firm in our determination not to pay a bribe, then we can turn public opinion totally against corruption.
