Why is it that drivers licences and Passports are not being excepted...
Why is it that drivers licences and Passports are not being excepted by Telecom companies when we requested to provide "Proof of address.?" We have currently new Passports, driving licences, PAN cards, Ration cards but the people from Idea telecom were insisting only on Voter ID.
In fact our Passport forms were not accepted and our application turned down... this on Passports with valid Visa's to the USA and some other countries as well.
This did not happen when we enquired and secured a connection from Vodaphone.
Why is this different.. and this question only of voter ID seems to be of prime importance to people who require " Address proof." for verification.
The address proof in foreign countries do not exist on Passports as they are well aware that people move form city to city, seeking jobs and various other reasons.
Why do we have it in our country only...it is anachronistic and useless.
