I had applied for a new passport and after about 17 days I got a call from an officer of Burdwan DIB (District Intelligence Bureau), West Bengal 713101 for verification of my identity.He told me to come on 18th January,2016 and meet him to complete the process.
I went to Burdwan DIB ,West Bengal 713101 at about 1pm on 18th January ,with all my necessary documents and meet that particular officer, Mr. Hridoy Ray.After verifying all the documents he told me that everything was okay and to go outside with him.After going outside he demanded a bribe of Rs 2000.I then told him that when I had all necessary documents with me then why should I pay the bribe ? In an arrogant voice he then told me that if I wanted to get the passport within 3 months then I would have to pay Rs 2000 else I even won't get it in next 1 year also.I got nervous as I had to submit the passport to my company within next 2 months.I told him I had 1500 with me.He then asked me to give that money to him and assured me of the quick completion of my process.Though I have not received the police verification report till date.

I hope that strict action will be taken against this corrupt officer and his associates who have converted "Burdwan DIB office " into a den of corruption.
