Bribe for registration
I took my mother to the Outer Ring Road, Marathahalli passport office on Thursday, Nov 20 to renew her expired passport and got the new passport today exactly 2 weeks later as promised by the passport officials. It was the most pleasurable experience I've had in a Govt office. My mother being a Senior Citizen got VIP treatment - they had a separate queue and tokens for Senior citizens. We were out in half an hour. There are huge posters asking people not to pay bribes and the people were very pleasant smiling and not expecting any bribe. The documents I took are address proof (Electricity bill and BSNL telephone bill) and original passport. They have a copy machine right there in case we need more copies.
