Koramangala RTO where I didn't have to pay Bribe
Having had to pay bribe everywhere in Karnataka Government offices, I applied for transfer of ownership of my newly purchased car at Koramangala RTO with double mind. Several touts and agents who were at the RTO office were asking me to pay Rs 1500 to get the modified RC book within a day. But I was adamant that I will try the straight route and applied for transfer by paying the Rs 100 fees. After two weeks also, I never got the RC book. Then finally I took my collegue who knows Kannada to RTO office and met the RTO. He saw my receipt and directed us to a particular officer. After waiting with the official for around 15 minutes, he checked the ledger and told us that the RC book will reach my home in two days. Even though I was apprehensive, to my surprise, I actually got the RC book in a days time. First time in Karnataka, I got something done without an agent or paying bribe.
