No fees for attesting!!
I needed to get some document-photocopies attested from a gazetted officer so as to submit them to a college. At the time I was working in a reputed IT company. The Health Department was the nearest Government office, so I went to the Health Officer to get the docs attested. He asked me whether I had the originals with me and I sad I did. He verified each of the documents, then quietly went about signing the xerox copies. Then he gave me his stamp and asked me to put the stamp over his signature. I did that, then asked him how much I should pay. Now whether because I was wearing my company tag or not I don't know, but he didn't take anything. I was really taken by surprise!! Kudos to him!!
