The policeman did not ask for the bribe
I had to got for my passport renewal as it was going to expire. After 3 online appointments , I finally completed the office formalities. After 2 weeks I was called for verification to Palam Vihar police staion. The officer gave me a form to fill up and get it signed from 2 neighbours. I immediately went and got it signed from my land lord and one colleague of mine in the same locality. While depositing, I game him a copy of ration card and rent agreement. He asked some general questions about my work and all that. After that he told me to sign a paper and it was over. I told him is there anything left. He hinted that 'yaha ka to sab ho chuka hai'. I don't know was it a hint to give some money or was it really over. I again asked him is there anything more to verify. He said no and I told him thank you very much and came back. Today after 3 weeks I got my passport. The postman was trying to extract some money from my wife since I was not at my home but she refused. In the end he has to give it :).
