For marriage registration, we went to Whitefield Marriage Registration Office. The concerned officer said come after an hour. However for others he was accepting the application. Later I contacted a person works for Mr.N (N is an agent who has a small table to sell applications inside the premises. But he actually works inside the office). His men scouts for people like me. I gave the application to him and he gave to N. N has verified the documents, highlighted specific information, put the official seal ! (all this he does by sitting on the chair opposite the officer, which is meant for visitors. From this chair, he reached to the official seal too). Then he gave the application to FDC. Got his signature and took me to the registration officer. Officer after getting the application from N, put his signature and smiled at me in a way that he is helping me! (thought he was doing his job). Later the application was handed over the Data Entry Operator for entering data in the computer. She was supposed to collect Rs.33 towards the fee. But instead she filled all the data and handed over the print-out to N. Who again got the signature of the officer and put the seal (again by himself). Thats it. My work is done in ~30 mins. After that he asked me for Rs.500. But I said to him, I have negotiated for Rs.300 with one of his men. Angrily he accepted and gave Rs.200 from that to the officer and said, Sir this is for the application (pointing his finger at me).
