500 paid for Passport verification even after very much opposing with thana Pravari

For verification of my new passport I had to pay 500 to the "Thana Pravari". When I asked why.. they said that 1500 is verification fee and as you are a student you will have to pay minimum 1000 and later on my opposing they agreed on 500. My friend told me to pay them as soon as possible otherwise they will mark as wrong identity or will identify any mistake in your passport. Below is the police station address:--
