I am an ex engineering student of rv college bangalore.after completion of 8th semester i misplaced all my semester grade cards.so i approached the college admission section clerk to obtain replacement copies of the same.the admission clerk is the person who is entrusted with performing such duties.he told me that he can do it but i have to pay a fine of 10k towards VTU(RV college is affiliated to VTU) to get the replacement grade cards.i did not find any such mention on the VTU website.i confronted him with the same.he became evasive and told me to get lost if i don't pay.then i asked him for the payment receipt and acknowledgment letter from VTU.he hesitated.next day he told me that the actual amount is 8k and not 10k and that if i don't pay i won't get my grade cards.i approached the princial and told him about this.he told me that he is not aware about all this and that he has limited knowledge about the rules,fee etc for replacement grade cards.in the end i end up paying 8k in cash to that clerk as i had no choice.i did not get a receipt nor an acknowledgement.
