I landed in Calicut some years back and was carrying 3 bottle of Whisky and some beer cans.. I really thought it was allowed and the official quoata was only 2 Bottles. Officer in charge asked me to pay some money and take it. I thought may be this is the tax, but there was no receipt and he said if you want the receipt, you need to wait and pay more.. Like any other passenger I was also in a hurry and left it like that.
