Airport Customs demand bribe

I was returning to Hyderabad from USA with a bunch of electronic equipment (including laptop). The customs officer listed all the information on a piece of white paper and asked Rs. 4000. I demanded a receipt first so that I can make the payment. But he cooked some stuff, took the money and did not provide a receipt.
