We were travelling in a car with all our documents with us. The car was hired by us from a rental service in North Goa. We were at the spot on bridge near Mandovi River, Panaji. We were heading towards Old Goa Church and were not knowing correct route. We saw the group of traffic cops nearby and thought that they will be most helpful to tell us the route. We asked them route instead they asked us to show papers and all documents. We showed all photocopies of papers which we were given from car rental service and license too. But, still cop was not listening and was warningus to come to Goa court and all or pay the fine for anything. Later, he took us to corner and told pay us Rs. 500/- and we will leave you. Same was with all travellers from that route.
I think some strict action should be taken in Goa for such corrupted activities done by local cops. They dominate tourists.
We paid Rs. 500/- and after payment the cop finally showed us the route to Old Goa church.
