Assessing authority demands bribe to pass re-assessment order

Re-assessment orders which we were entitled to as per law because higher courts passed orders in our favour were threatened to be indefinitely delayed if we didn't pay this bribe to the assessing authority. The refund amount is so heavy that we would lose so much in interest alone on account of any delay, we decided it was best to just pay the bribe and be done with it.
