Birth certificate
As per the zone I was been asked to go to BMC office in Prabhat Colony, Santacruz, MumbaI for my birth certificate. I was running pillar to post to finish all the formalities. I was also asked to get a discharge card copy from Bhabha hospital, Bandra were I was born. From morning till afternoon I was getting all the documents ready. Later the BMC officer Mr. Arvind got to know that I am an NRI, he told me that he can get the Birth certificate in 3 hours time if I give him 5000 rupees else I will have to wait till February. I refused and said I will wait. Unfortunately I could not record our conversation. I called so many times but no response. I tried to complain to their senior Mr. Rathod but he never met me. Later I was asked to go to some place called Kamatipura for my birth certificate and was also told that I may have to bribe those officers as well. It's almost two years now I am waiting for my birth certificate. I live in Dubai and cannot follow up regarding my certificate. My mom lives in Mumbai but she is too old to go to their office.
