My IT refund was held up for 4 yrs due to some error in bank details. I went 3-4 times, submitted an indemnity bond, nothing worked. on 31th july I got a call asking me to come to the office to collect the refund. I was surprised as they usually send it by mail. The officer gave me my cheque and said that he has got a promotion and will be transferred, so he wanted to clear off his duty ASAP. Though he didn't take any money, he asked me to take care of the attender and his colleague next to him. I paid Rs. 150 confused whether it was a bribe or a bakshish??
