I was all excited for my training in a govt. company.
The excitement got more accentuated when they requested a "Character Certificate" of mine from the Police.
I went to the Police Headquarters i.e. the Commissioner's office in CBD Belapur.
Applied for the certificate with requisite documents & left the annexe.
A week later, I, with my Mother went there, as they told me to, & found myself in a spicy pickle.
The head of the police was not available for his otherwise non-valuable signature.
The lady at the post asked me to come later, but I stood helplessly.
Later on, she summoned me & my Mom to a secluded place, & said...
"If you want then I can give it to you..."
My clever but sarcastic Mom, shouted a little loud... "How much?"
"Anything... (she laughed as she thought we were some affluent people)"
My Mom raked a Rs. 100 note to that lady & said...
"Did YOU sign for the commissioner?"
The lady gave a smirk!
