Bribe for getting bike back after theft.

Reported on February 25, 2016 from Pune , Maharashtra  ι Report #93798

My bike R15 was stolen from my society parking on 29th December 2015. After that I have to visit to the ghorpadi police station for 3 days then anyhow the take my FIR, after around 45 days when I was about to get my insurance claim a policeman knocked my door and informed that my bike has been found around 200 kms from Pune and he will further inform me about what should I do to get it back. It was literally a shock for me cz this was the time from where my actual struggle started. I was not in mood to get my bike back as my friends told me that it's a very hectic process and I was getting my claim amount also in next two days. But I was forced by area police to get it. Anyhow I agreed and informed my insurance provider that my bike has been recovered so they can cancel my claim. But when I visited the local police station where the FIR was lodged then I came to know that I will have to transfer the bike from the police station where it's been found is currently kept means shirwal police chowki to ghorpadi police chowki. It was seriously a shock for me because if your bike will be lost in Kerala and found in Jammu nd Kashmir then u will have to transfer the bike from Jammu to kerala And yes it's law. So I took time from police because they said that I will also have to carry one luggage with me(one police officer) who will do the paper work for transfer. But when I reached there on specified date i.e 24 Feb 2016 the person who was supposed to go with me demanded that he don't want to go on bike. He will come with car. Then when we reached our destination the so called cheap police there asked for bribe there. So I paid 600 to him and got my bike back. After I reached back taking my bike the person who was with also asked for som e money. I paid him 200. And I am sure I will have to spend some more money to get it released from court and get it from local police station.
But seriously from this experience one thing I am damn sure about is police is never going to change. They literally beg in front of you.
