I had applied for my passport for higher studies....I was not aware of how to apply or any procedures which i then understood from my friends...i had applied my passport after a few days a police has called me for an inquiry. i was thinking the police officer would come to the address for verification which did not happen and he called me to come to his personal home and asked me to pay 2000 or els he would send the application lately and it would take months to get back my passport i had already started preparing for my higher studies and was very much eager to go for a good study. many said to pay them the bribe or else it might be a headache is issuing the passport later. i had paid them my dad's hard earned money of 2000 which at the time of giving i cried a lot and felt sorry for spending it unnecessarily. i had to literally make up this money by cutting my expenses down i did not go to a movie for almost a year and cut out many other expenses(i know there are many in india who do not watch, i dont say this is something so necessary) am a middle class boy i have to think before spending each and every rupee. even before applying also i had to pay for proof of address 500 and red cross 250 that too without the receipt which they said if u want recepit it will cost 750. i was helpless could not do anything except silently pay and go away. **********even at after filling the application and sending me inside also that puin took 50 rs
