Government gives various types of incentive to promote exports. Our company (Firm) is in to export of semi finished leather goods. So for making this product we buy certain raw materials on this purchase of Raw material we pay VAT (alue Added Tax). for exporters government gives refund of VAT paid on purchase of raw material bought for making good for export. Hence at the end of every quarter we apply in Form W to get VAT refund. This application is processed by Commercial Tax Officer (CTO) and in order to process this application the CTO directly asks without any fear 4% of the refund amount to process the refund order. This is when i went, now the same office bearers are demanding 10% of refund amount.
