Bribe for issuing new passport

The police man from Sivakasi Police station called at our home and asked us to come to the police station. When we went there, he asked to pay Rs.350/- so that he approves my house address in the passport. I didn't like to pay him at all but to get the passport, I was made to pay it. It was not fair at all. Being a governement servant, he must do it by verifying our house alone and not asking to pay money to get my own passport.
Corruption is there in every nook and corner of the country. It is hard to eliminate / reduce it.
