I have paid bribe to register my marriage, I was asked for 7000 rupees, when I created a hue and cry, I was told ''Is se kam me nahi hoga (Not less then this). Also I was advised we generally charge 20,000 bribe for marriage registration.
I was even abused by clerks, and told to brings a lot of people to get the marriage registered (e.g Except our mom and dad we were told to bring 6 other people from our villages, without any reason), I opposed , they did not chek even if the girl is beyond 18 or not, rather they made process so complex that you can not afford to come daily with 10 PEOPLE at Tehsil/ Court. Withou bribe thay say , Magistrate is busy, he is in meeeting. As I paid bribe, everybody was available.
