I went to the registration office for giving general power of attorney to my son. there the sub registrar said that he cannot do the GPA registration unless i get the clearance from the RDO as the property comes in one town. actually some properties in one town have been classified as Assigned lands in 2007 by the government even though they are not assigned.to get it converted we have to go the Municipal corporation and take the Town survey report ( there we have to pay anywhere between 2000 to 4000) and get the NOC from the RDO ( here we have to apy approx 5000). actually my property does not come under assigned land. without checking the records, he simply told me to get the NOC and then only i can give the GPA to my son. then i offered the clerk 2000Rs and he bargained forn 3000 and finally i gave him 2500 anf got the GPA registered WITHOUT TAKING THE NOC as insisted by the subregistrar. that is the power of Corruption. i have paid 2100Rs as stamp duty and 2500 as bribe, is it not shameful to us????? the government itself is supporting the bribes.
