I was forced to pay Rs 400 at the Sonari police station and Rs 600 to a CID inspector for my new passport. Both officials specifically said the application would not cleared by them until the said amount was coughed up. The CID inspector even claimed it was the fixed fee for new passport application clearance in the area.
