Bribe paid for my then employer to the Engineers in Jogajog Bhavan
The then Chief Engineer and quite a few such Engineers who were the deciding factor for giving the projects for execution were demanding hefty bribe for the Project Arrow to be given away to Fortune Furnitech Pvt. Ltd. Kolkata. The whole tendering process was like this. Fortune with 3 of its sister concern got the tender papers. When it came to everybody else, it was just that the clerks on duty went missing for the days when the tender papers were distributed. Godrej people were threatened by goons who were deployed by Fortune and were returned back from the Premises of Jogajog Bhavan. Then when it came to opening of tender, it was a closed door affair. The demands for bribes for 65 Post offices and eventually for the rest 235 post offices were given. Our company CEO, the then GM(Operations) carried money to distribute them to the respective people. Subsequently we landed up giving bribes to all and sundry which amounted to Rs. 2500000 or more for a project worth of Rs. 2.5 *******
