Bribe paid for sale deed correction
- Stamps and Registration
- Land Registration
- Paid INR 5,000
I got my property registered in 2008 . Latter on realized that actual length from east-west is 40 ft and south –north is 3o ft , but in deed it was mentioned opposite . I mean east-west is mentioned as south-north and south-north is as east-west. The schedule in second last page is not as per the layout approved map and on ground measurement. Though there is no change in area.
The SRO does not want to allow the correction deed , though we had the BMRDA approved original map and we clearly told this was TYPO ,which we want to get corrected. He wanted to physically visit the land and then allow the correction of deed . Finally a person who was constantly talking to SRO took in side and asked us to pay 5000 bribe apart from the rectification charges. Once we said him OK after 2 -3 hours of argument , The SRO happily allowed us to get the correction deed registered .
I myself participated in IAC movement and it was embarrassing to pay bribe . but the persons who have to sign the rectification deed as owners ( their signature was in original sale deed had come from Channai and after lots of follow up they agreed to come on 21st Jan and we know it would be difficult to get all these people again . we did not had any choice than paying bribe and get our work done .
