Hi,
I had to register a flat I had bought in JP Nagar 7th Phase. Apart from the government mandated rates for Registration, and stamp duty, the registering agent also asked for Rs 15000 in cash to be paid to the officials. This was apparently to ensure that everything was done expeditiously and we did not face any delays.
When I questioned the registering agent, he mentioned that this is a regular process here and it is done quite openly too. All the people at the office were dutifully paying the bribe (I checked with a few people from my apartment and they all paid the bribe)
