The cops registered the complaint for lost passport without much problem. Then later at night (9 pm), they called us back at the police station and snatched the complaint receipt from me (without which I can't apply for a duplicate passport). They kept making us (including our toddler) wait without clearly telling us what was wrong. Finally they took my husband in a corner and asked for some money.
