Hi,
I am from a place called chidambaram,tamilnadu.I got married in 2010 and when I went to register my marriage they asked for Rs.1000/-. Only when I asked for a receipt I came to know it is only Rs.20/- they should charge to register a wedding. When we asked about it we were told that if we were not willing to pay that amount, the registration would be delayed by a month or so.I had to be traveling with my husband to abroad, and so I helplessly paid that amount and got my marriage registered. I feel so guilty about it now that I indirectly a reason for corruption.
