Bribe of Rs 2000 paid to prevent vehicle from getting seized

As I was nearing AJC Bose flyover a policeman IN CIVIL DRESS stopped me saying I had violated traffic signal and there was chief justice's personal vehicle behind me. I did not understand what was the nature of the crime. As per what he mentioned I must have broken a signal. But he mentioned the case would be Rs 9000 for such an offence. I was unaware of the law and got confused. He asked me hand over the RC book , he would seize the vehicle and I would not be able to get back the vehicle from court. I was confused and totally exhausted in the way the policeman had harassed me. I said that I have Rs 2000 in my wallet which I could hand him over and he might excuse me this time. The police bargained for Rs 5000 , I showed him the wallet , he took me to the ATM to check if I can withdraw cash so as to pay him Rs 5000. I had a credit card which did not allow me to withdraw cash, this was done in 3 ATMs in the nearby places around AJC flyover. Then at last the police let me go , asked me to pay Rs 2000 and told not to do this again. I was crying by the time he let me go. quiet a few of my friends have reported getting harassed by police around AJC flyover, Ballygunj and PArk circus 7 point area. I want to stay anonymous, because this is Kolkata
