Almost suffered for 2 weeks to get a birth certificate, here is the story..
My native is 80 km away from Coimbatore. My kid was born in Coimbatore private hospital, so I have to get the birth certificate from Coimbatore. The health inspector office is very near to the hospital, and his timings are from 3.00 pm to 6.00pm.This is what written in front of that office. When I went there the office was closed. And I was waiting for almost 3 hours. After that another officer came and opened the office and he took our application. He said within a week he will hand over the certificates to us. We took his phone no and called him, and went on that **********. My wife went at that time as parents need to sign to get the certificates. With a 2 months kid she was waiting in the road for almost 2 hrs and she got the certificate. We took 4 copies. In all the four copies I found mistakes. Unfortunately my name itself spelled incorrectly (I think the officer who writes this document used his language knowledge). As my wife didn’t notice the mistakes after 2 days we went back again to him. The officer who is responsible for that told that they lost my application. He took the mistaken certificates and he told that come after 2 days to collect the certificate. Almost 5 to 6 times we walked there and got the computer printed certificate wasting another half day. During this entire process I was checking in their website. This e-governance project got 2 national awards (https://www.coimbatore-corporation.com/frmIndex.asp). Almost I have spent 60 man hours and around 2000 rupees (Bus, money to the officer’s excluding man hours). I feel like this is the simplest data entry job in the world. For this simple process if we need to spend this much time and money, God has to save us.
