Bribe to police officer

Was stopped by the police around 3:45PM at an intersection on route 66, just before crossing the bridge from Panaji to Vasco da Gama. Had a strange story about violation of a traffic rule. Had to pay 1200 first as a fine, lowered to 700 as a warning. Did not receive any official receipt or anything else. Because of the low amount I was happy to be able to continue my trip. Were three officers in total, was not able to get their names.
