Bribe to a Traffic Cop

I had forgotten to keep my new PUC certificate with my bike papers. I later realized after I got home that it was in my bag which I was carrying. The traffic police officer stopped me for no reason at all and demanded to see my papers. Since I could not show him my latest PUC certificate. I had to take him to the ATM, withdraw the cash and give it. Later when I demanded a receipt he said that he will take 200 less if I don't want a receipt. So I agreed. But now I realize my mistake.
