I was planning to purchase a new two wheeler bike (Bajaj) so i was moving from one showroom to other in baroda getting quotes and list of required documents. I visited A.S. motors (Ellora park) and i was informed that i will have to pay a bribe of 1000 Rs to RTO officer as i only had Rent and lease agreement as proof of document. Sales person said me that there are two different RTO officers. One is very honest and other is corrupt. We will handover your file to corrupt one so that your vehicle will be succussfuly registered. I disagreed to pay bribe so i moved on to other showroom i.e. Shisha bajaj (manjalpur).
When i told them that i only have Lease and rent agreement as POA; they also described me the same procedure as i was informed in earlier showroom.(I have all proof of address but all are of bharuch city and i wanted to buy vehicle in baroda where i live on rent and had only rent agreement with police verification as proof of address).
Finally i was so frustrated that i had to PAY THE BRIBE of 1000 Rs on the day of vehicle registration. While documents verification RTO officer openly asked bribe from me and said me if i dont pay him he will not clear my registration process. I dont know his name but he was old man; all white hair. I think all vehicle showroom know about him and all showroom staff are equally sharing bribe with him
Strict action need to be taken for such persons who pressurize common man to pay bribe.
