Hi,
My wife applied for passport on June-2011. within a week time there was a Police personal (Local Intelligence Unit)in our door step. We showed each and every document to him as we were following the process. Originals, attested photocopies, then address proof, Identity proof. Every thing was in place. When the police personal was about to leave he asked for bribe to get this done. I was not surprised as I as expecting this. I said how much...he said "not less than Rs.500/-. This is the least amount everyone has to pay even all documents are in place." After few days I received a call from Local Police Station, SHO asked us to come at police station. We went for verification and then again we were asked to pay Rs 300 for doing verification. I had to pay. This is system we have. Its been almost one year and still my Wife's has not received her passport.
